  • • Named Freshman Lawmaker of the Year by the Oklahoma Constitution PAC.

  • • Received 100% Conservative Index voting rating by the Oklahoma Constitution Newspaper in 2013 and 2014.
  • • Authored HB1989, the "Student Data Accessibility, Transparency and Accountability Act of 2013". It prevents certain aspects of student data from being shared by government officials. Brumbaugh sponsored the bill after privacy concerns were raised regarding the data collection attributes of common core standards. The bill received gubernatorial approval on May 29 of 2013 and has since been featured in USA Today and Education Weekly.
  • • Authored HB2908, which seeks to transform state government process by allowing state agencies to pool inefficient processes into a single efficient process potentially saving millions of taxpayer dollars. It was approved by Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin as part of the 2014 legislative session.
  • • Authored SB436, allows Oklahoma school districts to cut through costly administrative overhead.
  • • Coauthored HB1488, extending incentives for oil and gas production to keep jobs in Oklahoma. It was signed into law on May 20, 2011.
  • • Coauthored HB1489, the "Taxpayer Transparency Act," making all state road funding available online to the public. It was signed into law on May 19, 2011.
  • • Authored HB1491, requiring technology center school districts to provide an alternative education program.
  • • Authored HB1492, directing the State Department of Education to make costs available on its website, providing for greater transparency in education.
  • • Coauthored HB1493, the "Dollars to Classroom Act," requiring school districts to spend a minimum percentage of taxpayer dollars on direct institutional activities, getting resources directly to the teachers and children.
  • • Coauthored HB2644, the "School District Transparency Act Compliance Bill," holding the State Department of Education and school districts accountable to publish all income and expenditures on the Oklahoma Cost Accounting System for taxpayer transparency.
  • • Principal author on HB3038, which would eventually end state income tax for Oklahomans. It has passed the House and Senate.
  • • Coauthored HB2643, the "Roadside Removal Act," making outdoor advertisers responsible to remove nonconforming signs on OK highways. It has passed the House and Senate.
  • • Coauthored HB2645, the "Excise Board Continuing Education Training Act," requiring County Excise / Budget Boards to receive continuing instruction to oversee county budgets, making them more accountable to taxpayers. It has passed the House and Senate.
  • • Coauthored HB2646, the "Accountability in Purchasing Act," allowing procurement officers to purchase items locally when the cost is less than state contract, saving money for the state. It has passed the House and Senate.
  • • Coauthored HB2647, the "Trip Optimizer Bill," saving the state the cost of travel on fleet vehicle use. It has passed the House and Senate.
  • • Coauthored HB2648, the "Ad Valorem Taxpayer Fairness Act," allowings taxpayers to mail or phone in Ad Valorem tax appeals and / or appraisal information for disputes. It has passed the House and Senate.
  • • Authored HB1487, relating to a homestead exemption for manufactured homes.
  • • Authored HB1490, authorizing the District Attorneys Council to allocate appropriations made by the Legislature for prosecutorial services
  • • Coauthored HB1494, repealing the Health Carrier Access Payment Revolving Fund.
  • • Coauthored HB1495, the "Transportation Infrastructure Reform Act of 2011," getting more money to ROADS funding.
  • • Authored HB1496, modifying Scenic Rivers Commission Fees.
  • • Authored HB2642, distributing more money to the Weigh Station Improvement Revolving Fund.
  • • Authored HB2391, providing a reapportionment of funds to build weigh stations for Oklahoma borders, protecting our highways and helping Homeland Security.
  • • Coauthored HB2649, phasing out state income tax gradually.
  • • Authored HB2650, enacting the "Sales and Use Tax Administrative Rules Technical Amendments Act of 2012."
  • • Authored HB2651, removing the Scenic Rivers Commisison's authority to charge a $10 annual use fee for noncommercial, privately-owned devices and a $1 per day use fee for flotation devices.
  • • Authored HJR1096, disapproving the promulgated rule codified as OAC 710:65-19-11 by the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
